Scholarships from Women in Leadership and Philanthropy (WLP)

A graduate of the University of Michigan, Dearborn, Dara Chenevert most recently served as the interim chief business enterprise and safety officer with the Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority (HART). In this role, she handled human resource duties and oversaw general litigation, labor and employment matters, and workers compensation cases. Outside of work, Dara Chenevert supports organizations such as the
Women in Leadership and Philanthropy program (WLP) at the University of South Florida.

Created in 2005 with the mission of supporting the intellectual and professional development of women, the organization has since awarded more than $1 million in scholarships and faculty research awards. Scholarship awards in particular, combined with the mentoring and engagement opportunities the organization provides, help recipients pursue both higher education and leadership opportunities. A number of scholarships are available for full- and part-time students, some based on financial need, and others with specific eligibility requirements such as a history of volunteerism, past military service, or single parenthood.
