Florida's First Nonprofit Animal Hospital

Dara Chenevert

Previously, Dara Chenevert directed the organization support division of the human resources department for Hillsborough County, Florida. In this role, she went beyond human resources to handle legal matters pertaining to risk management. Outside of work, Dara Chenevert regularly donates to her local Humane Society chapter in Tampa Bay.

The Tampa Bay Humane Society was started in 1912. The center became no-kill in 2004. Over the years, the center has grown and added services besides shelter capacity. The center offers a low-cost spay and neuter clinic, an affordable wellness clinic, and a vet hospital.

The center’s Animal Hospital opened its doors in 2012. It was Florida’s first nonprofit animal hospital. The hospital is accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association.

The Animal Hospital provides area pet owners with affordable services to ensure the best possible health for their pets. Services range from routine care such as vaccinations to specialized procedures like surgeries.
