For the last 11 years, the organization has hosted its Annual Women in Leadership & Philanthropy Fall Symposium. The symposium is a half-day event that celebrates women who have become transformational leaders within their areas of influence. The event consists of a networking breakfast, sessions, an award presentation, and a keynote address by a USF alumnus.
The keynote speaker for the 2017 symposium will be Grace Byers, a 2006 USF graduate who plays Anika Calhoun on Fox’s hit show Empire. Byers will be speaking about her work mentoring young girls through the Saving Our Cinderellas movement. Through her mentoring activities and speaking events, Byers encourages young people to uplift and support one another while taking a stand against bullying.
The 2017 Annual Women in Leadership & Philanthropy Fall Symposium will take place on October 20 in the Hilton Tampa Downtown. The theme is “Finding Your Grace.”
